For a beginner? What is better? The Ptoto SLG or the Proto Rail?

for accuracy and power, and for a player that moves, charges, and likes to light people up!!!Also, for a beginnerFor a beginner? What is better? The Ptoto SLG or the Proto Rail?
Either marker is a good choice, just depends on how much you want to spend.

The SLG ($199.95) is the entry level Proto tourney-style marker, while the PMR ($249.95) is the intermediate.

Both markers come with an accurate one-piece .690 stock barrel. If you buy a PMR Special Edition, the barrel is two-piece.

Not many upgrades are needed for either to perform. With the SLG, replace the stock feedneck with a clamping style feedneck (approx. $20-$30;) with the PMR replace the stock plastic back cap with an aluminum one (approx. $30.)

Rather than buying a stock PMR ($249.95,) the better deal is to pick up a Special Edition ($274.95-284.95.) For about $35 more, you get an additional $120 worth of factory upgrades.

I own both the SLG and PMR, but I use my PMR more. For a beginner? What is better? The Ptoto SLG or the Proto Rail?
They are both great guns. I got the Slg Because it was 50 dollars cheaper than rail. And the slg has the new hyper 3 regulator, like the PM8. The rail has the older hyper 2 regulator. Thats the only real difference I notice in the two. And the Slg is lighter.

Yea, SLG. Lighter, cheaper, I hear more accurate, and easier to maintain. With the Rail, you WILL strip that endcap. Plus the Hyper 3, and it has better efficiency. Better gun, IMO.
the SLG is a good begginner gun but go with the PMR it had more potential and is faster but the slg is lighter
