Is a Flanker, in Rugby, an easy position to learn ,how to play, for a beginner?

No Flanker is one of the more difficult positions to play in. You have to have the strength and stamina of a forward, the skills and ball handling ability of a back as well as a good rugby brain to get in the right position at the right time to make the tackle, fill in any defensive gaps or steal the ball.

Easiest position to play is probably wing, after all they just stand there and let everyone else do the difficult work.

If yyou want to see how a good flanker plays try and find video's of Richie McCaw (All Blacks) he's the best in the world at the momentIs a Flanker, in Rugby, an easy position to learn ,how to play, for a beginner?
Definately not!

The Flanker has so much control over the games pace, and how well ball is retained, or turned over by a team. It is sometimes common for struggling teams to play beginners at flanker as it is at the edge of the scrum and out the way of the ball in that respect, but by doing this they sacrifice a lot!

Once you've learnt the basics, it is probably easier to learn to be a winger, or a second row than a flanker! But in reality, a lot of rugby comes down to experience and coaching...it takes time!

rugby is a fairly complex sport and therefore I think all the positions are hard to learn.. flanker though, I think is not a good one to begin with because the team relies heavily on them to be staright up on defence if the opposition wins the ball and they have to be very strong, athletic players who are outstanding tacklers.
I think learn how to flank is quite easy. But it requires a lot of strength and toughness.

It doesn't go much far from the basics of rugby.

I think flanker is the best scrum position to play, if you are athletically prepared.
NO!

Playing flanker is one of the toughest positions and requires great rugby instincts that can only be gained from years of experience
